Starting a Get Paid To Post Forum? Is it possible to make money?

Well I have a domain and I thought that I would make a forum on it with a point system or something where people will be paid for example $1 for every 10 points or whatever or a domain for x points or whatever. Is it possible for me to make money with such a forum or I will end up paying the users and end up bankrupt? What type of adverts or whatever can I do so I will be able to make some profit not loss from this?

    Thanks for your help.

that entirely depends on how much traffic you can create for the forum
    and
how adsense optimized your forum will be

if you look thru varies threads here in DP forum - then you see that most forum owners apparently make far too little adsense revenue on their forums
and all forums i have seen so far ( DP included ) are far from adsense optimized but rather only user optimized.
user optimization without adsense optimization then sooner or later leads to the situation of lacking revenue to pay for increased server costs and hence to the need to ask for additional donations.

instead of thinking about paying for forum posts
think of a forum as a value added section that offers SERVICE and value FAQ to site visitors - to all - hence why pay ppl for the benefits THEY receive.
a quality forum is a way to SHARE valuable information, to HELP others from the bottom of your heart or to ask for help.

a forum has a excessively HIGH hacker risk/security risk and thus always does require far more observation and care than static parts of your site.

the best editor for more posts is ... YOU
answer a few quality questions that typically come up BEFORE they are published to give answers BEFORE questions come up
that attracts visitors and future posters as well.

    Good luck

I would personally not think so. $0.10 per post is a lot and people will just post with the money in mind. A lot of the posts will be short and not that good as I have previously seen from paying people.

When I started a forum I only paid people so that I could get some posts in there and then stopped. About 5 - 8 months later from that date and I still have not made a profit from the forum due to the amount I paid out to the posters.

Well I am not planning to pay $1 per 10 posts!! No way lol. But I want to pay people so to have great content and be very very active, so I can make some money but my problem is how..to make money! I don't know.. but perhaps I will not start it.

    Don't give money, give perks...

With vBulletin you can set up Promotions that can give added usergroups based on referrals or post count. With subscriptions you can likely make your post whores make money for you, rather then paying them...

Set up a few promotions to those that have 1k posts, 5k posts, and even 10k posts then watch the one-liner posts start to multiply!
