Hi, i'm planning on starting a free blog hsot website using Wordpress MU. It will have unlimited storage and bandwidth and plugin requests and theme request. Of course you have to provide me the theme so i can upload it. There will be many preconfigured themes and plugins aswell. Do you guys think this is a good idea? P.S It doesn't have that header thingy like blogspot does and other blog sites. Its just like a normal blog without ads and you can use your own domain.
Well i have everything setup at the moment but i'm still in need of a good domain for this blog. Any suggestions?
Its a great idea, but how will you make money if you don't have a banner bar on it? There are lots of blog hosts about that use wordpress mu and some have a small bar and others have great big banners, but they all tend to have something, because the costs in bandwidth, hosting and server costs are very high on a popular wordpress mu site.
Well the only way you can win is to be different. To offer something others do not. Your idea about offering themes appeals to me. Why not having some prepared themes that your users can just pick and install? I mean, they do not have to come with their own themes but you just give them some. I suggest you popularize Tigopedia (sizlopedia) - I know many people who adore this theme and I can understand why. As to domains, how about BlogPostHost.com or BlogHostLive.com? Or just try to figure out something unique like KiraKunBlogs.com (just an example). And, yes, I am too, very interested, how are you supposed to make some good dough from this?
i plan on trying this out for a month and see how much bandwidth it uses. I have a total of 2000GB bandwidth at the moment and 120GB storage. If i need more i will purchase more. I'm doing this beacuse i only host 1 wordpress website on my server and i have plenty of room for anyone else who needs a blog or other platforms. Well as for domain i want something short and easy to remember. Premium domains are welcome.
