Hi guys, I was looking to start a forum. I was wondering, is there anything I should know before I start this. Am I stepping into a lot of work? What do you need to do to start a forum exactly? Any extra details are appreciated. Thanks, Ben
You need motivation and dedication. It doesn't take a month to build a community. Your talk 6 months + for a little activity. Sometimes you will think you can't be bothered with it anymore, that's when you should get staff to advertise it for you while you advertise aswel.
It really depends on the topic of a forum to be active. Few forums are active in just 1 month or less while few take more than 1 year!
think of something that really suite your interest and not only because you think it can help you earn. think of something that will make people/guest come back to read or post. plus, a good forum layout and a very friendly mods! my forum is 2 months old, and i have about 400 members now, 11K+ total Posts and about 100 unique visitors/posts per day good luck
my forum is something that really suite my interest, so it's not that hard to get members for i am a member of several pet forums too, and from there, i have made several friends. In every forum, as a member, there is always something that can annoy/irritates you, and that's one of the main reason why i decided to create one, trying to make my forum better than the one i used to go to.. and making it user-friendly than any other forums. I asked some of my friends to be mods and they invite some of their friends to join our site and then they invited their friends of friends and so on..
