I have heard good things about www.forumshock.com. Hope that helps, good luck. [edit] Looked over your question again, do you mean getting people to just register and not post?

Try posting this request on "buy, sell, trade" section of the forum. The wii is very popular. So I'm sure you will get alot of people that are interested and know alot about the wii.

Rather than paying for sign up, you can pay people by holding a contest. Just host a contest about your forum and post about it on other similar forums. Example like running highest posting contest in your forum. But you have to do extra job to monitor each post so that you get more quality posting and not just a spam. And my advice would be to show some credential on your end so that people know this contest is legit. Based on my experience, people will take part if you are honest and not too strict on your forum member.

Another tips would be not too focusing on the main prize. No one would want to post if the prize is only for 1st place. If they feel like they cant beat the best then they most probably would ignore the contest immediately. Try to improvise like having best topic winner, or top 5 highest poster, or top 5 highest reply ..blablabla.. Well u get what i mean.

    Good luck ;)

what i have planned for my forum is get some 30-50 good members and pay them more to post the better post rather than the posts which members posts in contest .
giving out contest is just a spam post the guest who comes won't be interested in reading and finally not joining your forum.
But if you have just 20-30 paid members who posts valuable post ,guests see and "ho yea so supportive and valuable forum i must join"

this reduces the early spamming and gets you quality members.
Quality is better than quantity for long term running the forum.

This is just a thought that i'm planning to used it on my new forum.

Yes. You can hire forum booster who will join and post for you, which you can find in the "buy, sell or trade" area or with a simple google search ;)
