Starting a directory....Any suggestions?

    I am starting a directory. Any suggestions on categories as I am new to setting up a directory. Could people tell me whats the best way to go about it.

    Should I keep categories like DMOZ has ?


    Please suggest.

    You can keep the basic categories like dmoz or you can custom-build categories for yourself (this would give you better results, IMHO)

    If your directory is a general directory, go for a good set-up, with lots of categories and sub-categories.

    If a niche directory, do a search for that niche to get ideas on what categories to put in.

    i don't suggest you copy the dmoz category structure... it's too deep for a new site... look around and create your own category structure... it's not that difficult... :)

    A very good person here on DP has free templates for phpld.
    Also sells good categories, directories, etc.

    Do a search on the forum for SiteExpress.
    You will find him the best help for directories here.
