Open Source script is good if you know how to program. Most content mangement systems are very hard to customize so be prepared to get your hands dirty. If you don't program try to find which of your friends does. Pay him good money and you will both form a good partnership.

How about DATING affiliates..who do you think the plenty of fish site makes the most money off of? Eharmony, match.com etc. Key- dont be worried about competing with the sharks..just get a slice of the pie in the form of a niche/sub topic and OWN your niche..build traffic and members..then see the ad $$ opportunities arise..
But the Hispanic market is different. In the US people will pay a service as Match.com or whatever South American people dont like to spend money on the internet, in fact, We DONT spend any money online, unless is buying something that we really want to otherwise we use free services even though the services is not even close to be as good as the paying site. Thats why I dont think Affiliate Marketing will work.
