starting a dating service

What would I need if I wanted to start a dating service website? Is there any software I need to have?

(Right now I'm trying to familiarize myself with the niche by starting a free dating service blog, but I'm not sure how long I can keep it going, because I'm still handling it manually. It's free, though :) )

    Hello,

Yes, you need a dating script, there are many websites selling these kind of scripts, look in google dating script.. You can find script since $100 to $1000, the price depend if it has chat room, forum, general features....

Sorry for that, but there are many dating sites around internet, if you are going to start up another general dating site, you need to do a VERY HARD WORK, and invest a lot of money to carry girls and boys to your site....

I high recommend look around a niche, for example dating for plumbers, where girls search plumbers, LOL, I don't know, it's just an example...

    My 1 cents :p
    Best regards,

yeah definitely go for a niche, I always thought a dating site for university students would be good becuase you simply cant meet every single person at uni, so a dating site would let you browse interests etc...easily and make first contact quickly.

There are a lot of lonely people at uni with lots of student loan to burn!

There isn't that much competition out there it seems.

Oh and if you don't want to buy a script it might be possible to get a white label site and you can then be an affiliate...

Working hard and spending money. A lot...
But, you can succeed if you have the time, knowledge and a big budget.

Take my word for it...it's tough out there. I am also focusing on a dating niche (not specifically match making) and you really have to convince people out there to use your site.

If you set up not a general dating but a niche site, it will work much better. And if you go for non-english speaking markets you will enjoy very high ROI :) Dating Factory is the ideal white label dating provider to use for this

It is now very tough as stated before. Plenyoffish owner did an interview a few years back talking about his trials an tribulations starting his. It may still be archived at webmasterradio or you may find it on itunes.

You could use a pre-made dating script, but if I were you I would actually invest in hiring a programmer to make a custom website for you. Custom websites always have a higher chance of succeeding if you have something different within the site that can make it better.

Free social networks don't give you what paid dating sites do - matching tools, advanced communication features and scammers free environment. Free sites and paid for sites are just two different markets - I've been in this industry for seven years, and free sites and social networks have different audience from paid dating sites.

Investing into development - have my doubts about it - developing something really cool and different will be very costly, and then overheads of running the site and supporting it will just eat all your profits. That's why the white label solution like Dating Factory is a much safer bet - even if you don't succeed, you have nothing to lose.

I've been in this industry for more than 7 years my friend :)

And what I'm sure is that maturity of users + economic crisis + free social networks are damaging the online dating industry

Then I bet you haven't run a dating company yourself - and I have and continue to do so. Crisis (recession) really helped to grow the business in many directions, so I disagree with you completely on this.

Was never fond of Star Wars, but thanks :) And I am sure it will - as it does for many Dating Factory white label partners and affiliates every day.

You're quite a lucky man - as you don't live in a big city of Europe :)

You must make less cash from your dating biz to make a decent living in Donestk/Ukraine than elsewhere in Europe (London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin...) for instance or in the US ;)

ps : I'm not a fan of Star Wars at all

First of all I am not a man :) And second - trust me, living in Ukraine is not cheaper than Europe - Kiev is in the top 10 the most expensive cities in the world.

I used to live in the UK and spent far less than here!
