I am starting a company similar to www.boltz.com and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in an (in house) affiliate program? or do you guys think I should just join CJ or something? anyone have suggestions? thanks.. -john
depands upon your budget, Cj has a lot of publishers that might be interested. If i had unlimited budget i would to with both ways, working with cj.com and in the same time building my custom made affiliate program with much higher commissions then cj.com has to offer, and over 1-2 years you can have a solid Data Base of your own aff program and a lot of reputation so that you can shout down your Cj aff program and focus more on your own program.
Running your own affiliate can be cheap. Affiliate tracking softwear cost starting 50$+ (per licence). But working with cj will cost you more, but at the same time, affiliate program would be run professional and more affiliates would work with it.
im gonna look at zanox, but I am not sure at all.... thanks for all the info guys.... how hard would the affiliate software be to hook into my existing site?
quite simple. In most cases you just need to instal it and do some settings. Some of companys that offer affiliate tracking softwear also offer softwear installation for few bucks.
