Starting a Casino / Gambling site, or one that has the eliment..

What is the best route to go with this? Does it take a long while to jump off, like a community?

What about if I just want to have a gambling aspect on my site, but not make it the main focus, Im sure I cannot use adsense.

What are the best alternatives to adsense in this case? And would not using adsense hurt me that much VS the plus of having a casino on my site'?

    thanks

All online casinos pay hugh commissions for referring players, just google for 'casino affiliate programme' or something similiar.

ok, yea, looks like the best thing to do is become an affiliate.

What are some good companies for an affiliate / partner program?

And if I am just a partner will I not be able to place YPN / adsense on the site?

I got some software from an affiliate business that makes it look like your own casino site, but their program is in it. You earn through the program as people spend money on it to buy credits etc!

hmmm, the more and more I look into this, it looks a little too grey.

I think even advertising gamling / affiliate programs is illegal here. Becase think about it, if you have your own affiliate site, thats just like having a gambling site.

I dont think I'll mess with this for now.

Do you live in Washington state? If so, you can go to prison for promoting online gambling.

Either way, check the laws of your state. Some states (like Georgia I believe) have state statutes that regulate gambling oriented advertising and sometimes prohibit it.

Also check the terms of service with your hosting company. Some do not allow gambling sites, links to gambling sites, pornography, or links to pornography.

I run a private label at www.fadcasino.com; a private label might be your best option to running your "own" casino.

Explain private label please. How does that differ from affiliate? Clicking affiliate link Retains your name logo etc. at offsite gaming? I hate to even visit anything related to gambling for fear of trojans, hijacking etc.

With affiliate links you generally promote the brand/company that has an affiliate program.

With private label you generally promote your brand/company but all the work is done by the company that has the private label program.

NOt trying to warn you or anything, but some partners and I looked into this pretty deep last year. Apparently people have gone to prison, and according to a gaming attorney we hired ($15k bill before it was all over), many US owners are being watched - even small timers.

It's kind of like the drug trade, they catch the little guys (private or "White" labels) who are like low-hanging fruit, and squeeze them to go after the big fish. The patriot act has certainly made it easier for the Feds to do this.

Also, recent legislation about online gaming has made it through the US House, and is about 50-50 on clearing the senate. The only real debate is by legislators who want to tax & regulate it.

Affiliates are not exempt from being targets in my lawyer's opinion. We were determined to set up a white label poker room, and he had us form an IBC in Antigua, and none of our names are listed on the articles of Inc.

So far, we haven't had any problems, but it's been expensive to do this in a way that's 100% hands-off.

Online Casinos? Even riskier, because from I've read, overall revenue is down. People are gravitating to poker rooms. Also, if someone hits it big in your casino, guess where the payout comes from? Your pocket. Same w/ sports betting.

All in all, there's a lot of shifting sand in the online gaming industry. We may be pulling out soon. It's just not worth it...

Really? We looked at 15 or so different casino software companies, and they all showed us models that included us making payouts - normally in the 90% range. Now, for that model, we kept 80% of the revenue (on average) as a software licensee. They provided CS, servers, offshore licensing, etc for their cut of the split.

Sounds like you found a good deal. Can I ask what your split is?

Sounds like you actually licensed casino software for your own casino. I simply run a private label casino. BIG difference between the two.

Indeed. Actually, we opted not to open a casino on our lawyer's advice. All we have is a white label poker room bluediamondpoker.com in the Tribeca aggregate.

Online gaming is a crowded house right now.
