Hmm, I didn't know Adsense was a major factor. The page is converting well (around $6 per visitor). I added a privacy policy and contact page on Friday. The Adsense was removed this morning. A new text ad was created for the page with no Adsense - still £5 minimum bids
Think you may be right. Just for kicks I created a campaign for Google.com with the sole keyword 'google' and it got hit with a £2.50 minimum bid. The Adwords people suggested that wasn't a relevant keyword
you can use the google.com url as a display or destination... Im sure google has that as a red flag already
Look at your quality score and tell us if it's poor/ok/great (to see if you are keyword relevant at all) Try to match your display URL with display URL. Avoid KILL words like: free, guarantee etc... Also Google wants you to have a single call to action on your page. (Sale, Opt-in, etc)
Quality score is poor on every single keyword, even the ones that Google suggest after spidering the landing page. I appreciate that linking to Google.com is liable to raise flags but isn't it still rather odd for the Adwords support to suggest that it was the keyword 'google' that caused the poor quality score?
your not google... of course they are going to say that caused your poor QS. If you were xyz.com bidding on google, it might have passed assuming you have all other google min requirements met Also the google spider is not a way to measure relevance of your landing page... All it does is extract the keyword density out of your site. Its not saying that google thinks your is great for those keywords.
If I used 'search the Internet' as a keyword I got an ok score. If I used 'google' I got poor. You may think that makes sense, I don't. If the keyword suggestion tool isn't in fact recommending keywords, what the heck's the point of it being offered? They may as well not do quite honestly.
Your right, its a pointless tool... In all the years Ive been doing marketing I don't even think I needed to utilize it once. Ive tested it here and there but never use it as a legit tool Its kinda like the "Im Feeling Lucky" button on googles home page. Its there, but pointless and not really useful
