Starting a blog on solar energy

Greetings,
i'm a new member of this forum who is looking for an advice about opening his first blog: What do you think about opening a blog about solar energy? Is it possible to make some sort of income? Especially because this would be my first time and i don't speak english natively.

Solar energy is a wonderful topic for blog, especially if this is something that you interested in. But language gap cane an issue. Why don't you just writing your blog using your native language?

 

Why solar energy in particular?

 

I think it is a good niche. Post consistently to retain users for long time.

 

You post seems to be written in English pretty well. No grammatical or other such errors, so you should be able to write a blog in English for the most part. @sarahk hits on the most important piece, however: what do you know about solar energy that readers will fine interesting and different from other sources? Writing unhelpful or redundant content in perfect English will not make for a successful blog, no matter the topic.

I like the idea of the blog about solar energy, but why did you choose it, are you an expert in this field?
If you are not, then what can you give to your readers? it have to be unique information and useful for your readers. Maybe you can write about some experiments or life hacks how to use it for people's needs

 

You know, how about a blog about making climate change happen faster? I would subscribe to that. You see, if the Atlantic Ocean would rise about 200 feet, I would instantly have beachfront property and could sell it for big bucks. I keep hoping, but not much progress yet.

 

Yes, that would be a great topic. It would be really nice if you create contents that would inspire people to also use solar panel system on their households and how we could save our mother earth for the next generations. I think you could really gain traffic if you do DIY and life hacks with this niche.

 

Yes, it is possible to make money from the blog.
You need to figure out how you can monetize it.
There are several ways to do this.

• You can promote affiliate offers
• you can sell your products or services
• You can put up ads on the blog

Juts make sure to blog on a regular basis.
Have you considered blogging in your native language?

 

It seems like a really interesting topic for me, as that's something that is in a high demand worldwide, and I don't think there are a lot of blogs dedicated to this topic. But, if you seriously want to get yourself in this field, you should first do some preparations, and research for the best keywords that your target audience is using, to educate a lot about solar energy if you are not an expert in this, to find reliable sources where you will collect the necessary information, and so on. Once you start writing valuable articles and get some traffic on the site, you can think about how you could monetize it by placing some ads on the blog, doing some backlinking processes, selling e-books on the site, and so on. Start slowly, step by step, and see how things are going.

 

Goes without saying you should aim for original and interesting content. Look at what is already published and find out what new areas they haven't covered or missed and work on it from that. I would imagine, like a new website, a blog will need to work its way up the DA and hence you would best cover keywords that are not that popular, focus on long tail ones.
