    We launched a new technology blog on our main website and we would like the pros to take a look to see if we missed anything vital out. This blog is utilizing software that we wrote for our CMS package. This is dofollow so your post will count as a backlink! We look forward to approving comments quickly!

    Well one minor thing is missing? You have no feed! Is that something vital?

    We just pushed out the RSS feed a few minutes ago. There is now a link on the right nav pointing to this url
    http://www.jvfconsulting.com/blog?feed=rss2

    Anything else we're missing that's vital to becoming a successful blog?

    Not a huge deal, but adding this to your header will allow browsers to automatically identify the RSS feed:

    <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS 2.0" href="http://www.jvfconsulting.com/blog?feed=rss2" />

    The location doesn't matter, just somewhere between the <head></head> tags.

    I just took your advice mramige and entered the above string in the html of the blog site. If you could double check to make sure I did it correct that would be fantastic! Thanks for all your help.

    At some point, you may want to get listed in Technorati. Which means you will have to set up a routine that will ping them or another service like Pingomatic automatically when you make a post to the blog.

    Also submit your blog to larger directories such as BlogCatalog, MyBlogLog and Bumpzee.
