my friend and i decided to start a new site on laptops.initially we designed the format and coded everything in html using dreamweaver from the scratch.,which took over a month's time and only later we realized that is was not scalable and adding new content was a pain.moreover the design was done using fixed width tables which were not resolution independent. we choose laptops as its average cpc was decent and it wouldnt take much time to get it started.though adsense motivated ,we had decided to keep ads to minimum so its not MFA. later i got busy with the college and couldnt put much time towards the site development.we have already purchased the domain and hosting space. i am in dilemma now. i cant put more than 45 min per day on this site. please guide me to proceed further my skills: i am already running another small tech related site with 200 uv per day making an average of 12$ per month using wordpress cms does anyone have suggestions?please guide me.
I think you'd be better with drupal or wordpress. Joomla wouldn't work so well. Just add a few articles (300-500 word) everyday for a couple of months. Try building links and exchanging banner ads. You should see traffic coming in. Then try working around the blog with a few articles here and there with the latest news.
its always a wise decision to start planning your daily activities such that you can at least put in 2 hours daily on your new website, and 10-20 min daily on you old site(s), I only work on my old sites once or twice a week. And I get decent income out of it. The basic thing I tell everyone to not actually aim for refferal traffic, always try to get organic (search engine) traffic, as it just keeps coming. no matter if you are working 10 hours daily or 10 mins daily. I don't feel bad to actually buy some good quality links so that google can see my site as a well reputed site. And yeah don't waste your precious time wasting on designing and maintaining static site. Always go for CMS. word press is the best one. just install it, start thinking about good quality links. Follow a proven method in order to maximize your adsense revenue. there are lots of them available online. And yeah dont forget to follow the basics. like color blending, using rectangles rather than banner. using text ads instead of image ads, etc...
I will kill my HTML website for making it in wordpress. Wordpress as CMS is way better than HTML website as SEO becomes easy in it.
