Hello all,Was hoping for an honest answer on the below, I am strongly considering trying to create a full time career from web design/development but i do have a bit of a concern.I know there is a massive amount of outsourcing and overseas developers/designers from Asia who will do the work at half the cost plus, so just wanted to get some honest feedback from others in the UK who are doing this full time.

I know it's not an easy ride, nothing is but just interested to hear if its still a fairly profitable and a viable full time job? i.e. to pay a mortgage, have a fairly decent life-style.I am currently in a very well paid job but webdesign/development is really interesting and fun for me so its not all about money but we all have bills to pay and desire to do things i.e travel.

Also just want to make thing's very clear, in any case someone outside of the UK takes this post the wrong way or offence please don't. You need to understand that the UK is different to most Asian countires in terms of costs.. the UK is a very expensive country to live in compared to most Asian countries so I'm not digging at anyone as know there are excellent web designers/developers outside the UK, I'm just talking in financial point of view for someone living and working here in the UK.

Free lancing can be rough, You might want to consider starting a theme store or some type of Design asset store and sell to designers looking to outsource quick and easy tools to make their lives easier while working on your freelancing.
