Best category = Something you truely love. It wouldn't do much good to blog about fishing if you've only gone once in your life.

Blog about something you love, and the rest will follow.

Don't make the same mistakes many people, including myself have made.

Before you get started don't just think about what topics to blog about. Think about how you can make money with these topics, whether that be through Adsense, affiliate products or whatever.

If you want to make money.

Only blog about topics that will make you money.

    Don't waste your precious time.

The "Guru's" say start a blog on something that interests you. But, if it isn't going to make you good money forget about it and move on, look for a topic that will make you money.

If you're going to create a "make money" blog then you can forget about Adsense. If you're new to making money online then you'll probably be hard pushed getting people to trust your affiliate recommendations. They probably already purchased the products your pushing from Darren Rowse anyway.

Mate, don't build a "make money" site thinking it'll make you rich because it won't. Besides, there is already to much of that type of crap anyway.

    Stop procrastinating.

Pick a topic with decent paying Adsense keywords or/and affiliate products and get to work. Start writing that content, start getting those backlinks. If you're going to do this, then make a commitment, don't delay any longer.

This stuff takes time and what most don't understand is that a lot of the time it takes hard work. Often harder work and longer hours than a normal 9-5 job.

If you're building your blog on a brand new domain it's going to take time to age, give it that time, keep writing content, keep getting backlinks and build more blogs. Be patient, this shit takes time.

But, if you keep working hard building your blog then the rewards are Sweet.

I wish you good luck mate.

    Keep us posted.

    Now get to work

Maybe also subcribe to popular blogs about content/marketing/monetization optimization to get ideas. Such sites as dosh dosh and skelliewag (search with Google) have been helpful to me...
