Start a WordPress Website, need a little advice?

I have decided to start website based on WP for my articles and other writing instead of using sites such as AC. With the content I am giving away to these writing sites, I figure I might as well start my own and slowly increase the site.

I understand that SEO is important and I do know that WordPress has the SEO pack that many people has used with their WordPress. Is there anything else I can do in order to improve the content in being discoverable?

This is my first WordPress and wondering if there are any steps I should take as a beginner. Any other advice would be very appreciated.

You can write good content so you get a lot of natural links. This will help you the most.

 

The best methods for blogging success are:

- write quality content
- have a decent updating frequency with new content
- publicize content through social media
- build backlinks through other blogs, forums and directories that are do follow
- write guest posts on other good blogs in your niche.

rinse and repeat the above steps and soon you will find out that you are doing great!

Others than mentioned:
- choose a decent theme ( even if it's non premium: javascript slider, catchy design );
- search vor esential plugins like Headspace ( google it "best wp plugins" )
- study hard your niche and try to come up with new things, ideas.
- any serious project needs time: make sure you have it!

go with wordpress with confidence. SEO is extremely good with wordpress

 

I recommend only Wordpress to newbies because it's very easy to install and manage..
For SEO, install "ALL in ONE SEO" plugin and you'll get basic SEO done for free for your website. Change your permalinks to /%postname%/ in order to make your website's urls SEO friendly.

I love Wordpress...It's very easy to customize. You can find a ton of free themes and plugins to make your WP blog work for you. A couple of plugins I suggest are the All-In-One SEO and Google XML. But in order for your blog to be discoverable is to write good content, write consistently, and promote what you write. Good Luck if you need any help let me know!!
