So I picked my keywords based off of the number of searches they get according to Google. Lets say I have a keyword that should have 1000 searches a month. How many hits should that bring a site ranked number one? Know how many I get per day? Maybe 1 if I am lucky lol. It is funny too because the keyword is exactly what my site is about. I am asking if this is normal. The reason is because I have a 13,000 searches per month word that is soon to rank up there too but will it give good results?
From what i have read here on DP in various threads... dividing that number by 5 should give you an approximate idea of visitors to a #1 ranked site. (Did you use the exact word search option. Seemingly most people miss out on that and get inflated search figures.) IMO how well your site performs in ranking would also depend on the competition you have..
According to a study done, the first listing on Google gets about %40 of the traffic for that search and the being 1st on the 2nd page actually gets more traffic then being at the bottom of the first.
local monthly searches from adwords are just the estimated number of traffic per keyword. It is advisable to check low competition keywords with good traffic.
