What are the standard fonts installed on all computers, just checking to be safe when desinging a web page using some certain fonts.... is papyrus standard??
Those aren't on ALL computers. But Papyrus definitely is NOT standard. Verdana's very common but not yet standard. Here's a thought - go to a computer store and look at the fonts in the cheapest Windows box, one without even Office. Then go to an Apple Store and look at a Mac. See what fonts they have and compare the lists. Times will probably have to be listed separately for Macs and PCs. Then you have Linux and God knows what comes with them. Geneva is VERY different on Macs and PCs. Courier should be accompanied by Monaco (for Macs) - Monaco first. Palatino seems to be almost standard but I'm not sure. Arial is a version of Helvetica and you'd probably do well to include both because Macs don't come with Arial - someone at Apple presumably paid the license fee instead of making a lookalike. Personally I find that if you use Times you should increase the font size. Verdana is VERY common but you should still have a fallback. I personally like Verdana and Georgia (serif) but I do have fallbacks for both.
Arial Arial Bold Arial Italic Arial Bold Italic Courier Courier New Courier New Bold Courier New Italic Courier New Bold Italic Modern MS Sans Serif MS Serif Smallfonts Symbol Times New Roman Times New Roman Bold Times New Roman Italic Times New Roman Bold Italic Wingdings Are in all of WINDOWS, don't know about MAC's.
papyrus is not standard on any computer I have ever seen. I would stick to the basic 3 times new roman, arial and verdana.
