I just received an infraction today because I posted this http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1879545#post14622502 in the wrong section. The price I wanted was $4 and just because it as $1 short of being $5 I got an infraction since it should have been in the freebie forum.

Please tell me this, why can't the staff be a little more generous and just move the thread to the correct forum and send you a "friendly" PM saying what happened. It seems that I get a silly infraction every month now.

Just go through FAQ/Rules and Stickies properly if you don't want further infraction. Thats all.

As Don said, read the rules.

If you priced something at $5.10, you'd get an infraction as well... It's all described in the faq.

Basically infractions makes you aware of the rules on a higher note & keeps you alert while posting in future, i believe warnings aren't taken as seriously as it should be here which leaves no choice for mods than to use them.

Exactly. Just take a lesson from infraction and move on.

You have 1/10 infractions I assume, so you have nothing to worry about.

Alright thanks, I know infractions add up but I didn't know you needed 10 for a ban (my guess considering the last post) since I've been on other sites where its only 3.

3 infractions here will keep, I would guess 95% of members off forum just like that.

So, enjoy your stay while it last and be happy.

Bans are based on infraction points, not number of infractions.

In your UserCP [click 'Settings' at the top right of the forum] you will see, above your list of infractions, the following:

Where X is your given variable.

I remember there being a post by a staff member about how many points was needed to get banned (as I believe it changes based on user class), but I can't find it.

If a staff member would be able to clear that up here, I would appreciate it, and I'm sure it would be helpful to others.
