Hi, im in the process of making a store. However, im a bit confused with the SSL stuff.

I know i need a dedicated IP with hosting, but i thought i needed to get the SSL through my domain provider? But i see i can purchase it from a hosting place for $25/year instead of $2.50 odd at the domain place.

Im confused... basically - i have a domain already, how do i make this SSL so its got the padlock in the bottom of screen to show im safe to buy from?

I've installed and manage now myself about 10 SSL Hosts on my dedicated server, so Let me see If I can help you a bit here.
You actually dont have to buy SSL certificate for it too be secure, but the browser will throw warnings about it becuase it doens't know who issued it, thus Self Signed Cert. To get a SSL cert,
First Generate your CSR certificate in your cpanel, Now you can either,
1)Just install the CSR now, (Self signed Cert)
    2) Continue to your SSL Vendor buy a certificate, put the CSR in and confirm it with your email. (stand proc)
Then you will receive the final piece Certifcate.
4)Return to your cpanel and copy and past the cert into it and create the SSL host.

That is the jist of it.
