I bought a Thawte SSL123 certificate (DV) through Namecheap. It was validated immediately. My host installed the certificate, and it's functioning fine. But it comes with a site seal, but the seal doesn't show up on my pages. Namecheap has no suggestions that help, and Thawte refuses to provide support for certificates purchased through resellers. <script type="text/javascript" src="https://seal.thawte.com/getthawteseal?host_name=www.mydomain.com&size=M&lang=en"></script> I tried: - my domain in the script with and without the www - js code for Thawte's 2 other seal styles - waiting 5 days - placing the code in 3 different places on my website Has anyone had issues like this? I had a Godaddy seal, but their server has been frequently down the last few months, intermittently going up and down for several minutes on and off over the course of hours, repeating the pattern again the next day, and browsers would delay loading the rest of the page as it waits for a response. I'm thinking about trying Comodo and then GeoTrust if that doesn't work. I suspect it's an issue with my site not being validated in Thawte's servers even after all this time, so it might be Namecheap's fault, but I figure I'll spend more money with them to try a Comodo ceritficate because I buy my domains from them and their prices for certificates are good (if it works).
Personally I'd request a refund if your host refuses to help you, or deliver what they promised. It seems like something demanding far more effort than it's worth.
May I inquire what the hell the point is with a "seal" on your page? Address bar shows https - clicking on the lock in the address bar gives information about your SSL-certificate. What the hell do you need a seal on the actual page for?
@PoPSiCLe put it WAY more politely than I was going to... honestly, the mere notion of linking in some scripttardery just to show some stupid seal (which should just be a static IMG anyways) reeks so badly of scam artist BS, makes me question the legitimacy of whoever it is you REALLY got it from... Since having dealt with Namecheap for nearly a decade, I've never come across anything remotely resembling that. Never even heard of Thawte... oh, it's Symantec, so if I had come across it I'd automatically have assumed it was a scam and done everything possible to forget they exist! Now I'm not saying I have major trust issues when it comes to Symantec... no, wait, that's EXACTLY what I'm saying! Though I have a stupid and obvious question: Are you trying to load that https file from a html file being loaded on your http domain? I know it's a silly thing to ask but remember, https doesn't work on a http domain and vice-versa!
