SSL Extended Validation (EV) Certificate Comparison

I'm looking for a conversion comparison for using an EV SSL certificate. I would really like to see a A-B comparison with EV vs a standard cert, ona website doing between 2M and 20M in online sales per year.

I don't want to see a comparison from a SSL issuer or reseller, as these are just too biased even if they were done responsibly.

If anyone has seen a real comparison please share...

    Thanks

I do not have a conversion comparison to offer, just my two cents.

Even if the website is selling to very web savvy people I do not think they have a clue about EV vs. No EV cert. I bet most people you know could not name the SSL cert issuer for the top 10 websites they use.

But with 2-20 million in sales online you could use a mixture of EV and non EV certs to save money and still present the green bar.

Only diff in the EV certs themselves is some offer SGC.

Yes, I was referring to non-EV vs EV certs, basically green bar vs none.

The comodo EV cert is about $350 / year which is the cheapest I've seen, Verisign is above $1000.

To me an SSL cert is an SSL cert, but the green bar is something different.

I would think that with the amount of money SSL cert providers make they would publish data on the effectiveness of certain options like SGC or EV. Only problem is all the data would point to both being a waste of money.

Probably because the Verisign is "better" Brandname, everything these days is about Brand experince, whether or not one product is actually better then the other. There not, there exactly same. In reality a self signed cert is no more secure then a EV one either, they both use 128 bit or 256 bit. EV I think are only issued to those with real business entities.

Personally I do not like these SSL companies, they should be free. The root certificates that are packed into these browsers are being manipulated privately for profit.
Its really a monopoly on something that could easily be free. It would not be terribly hard for Microsoft to include a root cert in I.E browser, and issue free certs on their website for webmasters.

Go for verisign coz it more reliable and other than SSL you need to have trustE seal increase your sales volume.
