It's highly recommended to have one. Sign-up pages, sign-in pages, checkout pages.
Not many customers are willing to buy from sites that do have an ssl sertificate.

Most of e-commerce website do need SSL to show your website is secure, to build confidence to place order with you and share their personal information. Beside that it also help you to secure your website as well. So i think SSL is a need if you do have a money or product transaction for the website.

I recommand below mentioned websites for SSL Certificates
    1. thesslstore.com
    2. Rapidsslonline.com
    3. Trustico.com
    4. SSLRenewals.com

I am not sure, but it is a warranty provided by the Certificate Brand (VeriSign, GeoTrust, Thawte, RapidSSL etc) and assurance to your visitors that if the any third party breach and theft your credit card or any other secure information they will give this much amount if claimed with Proof.

Yes. Without one people will be hesitant to buy from a not-so-secure website

Depends on how much you are willing to spent, the best is the Green EV Bar from Verisign.
As the name suggests it turns the address bar green when the user enters the secure area (usually shopping cart stage)

The warranty means that if the SSL Certificate were to be mis-issued and you lose money as a result of this, it would be covered up to $xxxx. I definitely recommend getting a SSL certificate if you plan on doing ecommerce.

An SSL certificate encrypts the connection between the browser and Web server. SSL certificates are often used in connection with the online stores and in the contact form in which they will transfer personal data.

The more customers trust you, the more they buy from you. ! Ordering SSL Certificates are not that much difficult now a days.

I was also looking for some Cheap SSL Certificates for my site and i have really came across with the great offer and i grab that.

Now in days customers expect an online shop/site to have a SSL certificate. You more than likely won't get as many sells from customers who don't personally know you if you decide to not utilize or have a SSL certificate installed on you site. The $xx,xxx.xx amount is a warranty amount if a customer's financial data is stolen and they decide to sue you you will be covered for up to that amount by the company whom you purchase your SSL certificate from providing you haven't violated any of their policies when you use the SSL certificate issued by them and also show the verification logo from them on your site. If you have a merchant account with a financial institution you are expected to have a SSL certificate to comply with PCI DDS compliance with VISA/MASTERCARD regulations. Otherwise you have the option to use payment processor services i.e. (PayPal, Moneybookers, etc) were the customer is directed to their site to make the payment then redirected back to your site after they have made the payment for whatever particular item or service they are purchasing from your site.

I found that SSL certificate was very important on an ecommerce website, customers do actually look for it, especially if the website is new to them. plus you need it to interact effectively with Google checkout

Ask your hosting provider, maybe they provide shared certificates, it may be more convenient than obtaining a dedicated one.

its damn important. You can find out last two months, facebook been start to use https because they do develop e-commerce cart in profile app. And follow up by twitter. So why not you? You need the SSL to protect your website and your transaction . It also able to improve the trust to your customer to make payment and order from you through online. SSL are not expensive, so why not you get one?
