Hi all, I am in the process of setting up an online auction. My question is if I only use paypal as the purchase payment will I need to have an SSL Certificate ? or is there no point ? cheers mrix
You won't need an SSL for the payment side of things, as the user is transferred to PayPal's website to make the payment and then sent back to your site when its complete (assuming this is how its being done).
That's right... PayPal does all the dirty work. You don't need the SSL because you won't deal with their credit card information.
Its not mandatory. But if you want build confident in your client toward you,then you definitely need SSL to verified your biz
using SSL secure is to add more confident to your cliet to store the email or filling there "pre ordered"but if concerning about hacking,I don't think SSL now effective to counter heavy DDOS attack that can burn down your site
