SSD vs SAS. Which one is better in performance?

    Can any one explain the technology used for SSD & SAS Storage? And which one is better in performance?

    SATA and SAS are similar and are both spinning disk drives. SSD drives use flash memory instead of a spinning disk for much faster read/writes

    Since SSD is based on flash memory, it has a much higher I/O performance compared with SAS (traditional HDD).

    So if you care about performance then there's no doubt that SSD would be better, but comes with a higher cost, depends on your data capacity/volume and budget.
