Hubpages is currently better than Squidoo. I would use both though. I don't like to put all my eggs in one basket when it comes to creating my content.
For me its first Hubpages then Infobarrel and then Squidoo. The main point I like Squidoo for is that they also allow non-English content and that they are more relaxed about the number of links you put in a lens. But Hubpages and Infobarrel still rank better for me in the SERPentines than Squidoo, SY
Just came across infobarrel and have been quite intrigued by them as well... had much success with them? Running a hubpages challenge right now so don't have much time between that and client projects but might well look to give infobarrel a go after that
Hubpages tends to rank higher for me. But I wouldn't advise putting all of your eggs in one basket. (Hubpages, Ezine, Squidoo, etc.) It's best to build a site yourself, so if Google ever decides to bring the hammer down on these sites, you'll be fine. I can only imagine the panic if Google were to devalue ezine like it did Squidoo a few years back!
I like Huppages because it has rank higher and can use Google analytics. Higher ranking is very important. So I choose Huppages.
Hubpages is better in terms of ranking in Google quickly. It takes time for squidoo lenses to go to page 1 of Google but eventually it gets there and stay higher than a hub based on my experience as a noob.
