I ask this question because while analysing my competition I have found squidoo lenses ranking number one (a lot higher than me), for long tail keywords that dont even appear in its content (only in title) and when I went to yahoo to count backlinks for one of those lenses in particular, yahoo counted only 14 and all of them coming from squidoo. That means this lense ranked number one for a VERY competitive keyword (hundreds of thousndths of results with quotes and hundreds of thousdths of "allintitle" results) with 0 backlinks coming from external sites. Google also counted 0 (I know google shows very little of them, that is why I use yahoo.)

WHile trying to figure out why they where ranking number one with poor keyword distribution and 0 external backlinks for such a highly competitive KW, I saw that unlike my lense, that lense had been around for 2 years, so that is why I come here to this forum to ask you guys...is squidoo site antiquity important to rank them high?

I know the answer to your question. Antiquity/age is a factor! Squidoo is a PR (Page Rank) level 8 domain that was registered Aug19/2003 now with with 1,250,000 pages indexed in Google, 375,000 in Bing and over 400,000 backlinks to the homepage. Any page published in Squidoo will be given considerable leverage in the SEO aspect of your promotions.
