You would optimise a Squidoo lens just like a regular web page - start with keyword research, work your keywords in to your content, and get lots of backlinks to your lens. Unique and quality content is best. Additionally, add some good tags to your lens (see sidebar of Lens Workshop). Ratings and comments from other Lensmasters will help your Lensrank go up, but this will have no effect on how well it ranks in Google, or how much traffic you get.
