HOw do I get me squidoo lens that I made 2 days ago give me traffic. No traffic from squidoo lens, what to do? Thanks BADMAASH
Squidoo Lens' are said to rank rather well in the Search Engine's. I can't say I'm an expert because mine doesn't bring me much traffic. But if you put up some content on it relating to your website... the goal is to have it get quite a bit of SE traffic and hopefully in turn bring you some as well. Since SE's take forever, I don't think you can expect immediate results. Regardless of how powerful it is, it will probably take some time for it to rank at all for your keyword(s).
Patience is a virtue. Even if you promoted it well it may still take some time to rank well and therefore give you traffic. Two days is an unreasonable time frame.
squidoo lens are so full of affiliate links I believe google does not rank them well. I have 6 or so and get a few hits and make a few dollars. Just more passive income.
You need to have some good links to your lens (blogs, social bookmarks, etc), and you need to wait. Make sure you have plenty of good (relevant) tags on your lens too.
For some fast ways to get your Squidoo lens indexed, you need to either link to it from an article on Ezinearticles or submit the lens to Digg. Index almost guaranteed by 24 hours after your link and article have been published.
Have you taken care to get it optimized for some long-tailed kws with low competition? this is a must.
Whenever i make a squidoo lens it ranks well in google for around 1-2 days and then bam! it loses its ranking and then it takes a lot of time to rank well again. So have patience and keep updating your lens and add rss feeds in the lens. Also dont forget to social bookmark it
For a start you could put your squidoo link in the forum signature. That would help a bit I suppose. You could try don't you.
A lense will not bring traffic in itself. Its just like putting a sign out in front of your business and hoping that people come to it. A lense is a lot like a blog. You need to build links to your lense. Join a few (or a lot) of communities and groups on Squidoo to show off your lense. Go to Squid U and learn how to advertise your lense. SE will index it MUCH better if there a lot of one way links (or backlinks for that matter) going to your lense, not necessarily what you are pointing to.
Another thing you can do is exchange ratings with other squidoo owners to increase you ranking on squidoo. Click on my sig. to get 5 star ratings right away.
In many ways a Squidoo page is just like any other when it comes to generating traffic - you still need to build up quality links and pay attention to on-site SEO like people have already mentioned on here. Of course you can also do paid advertising too
Yep you could just create your own websites....and in fact you should. But Squidoo pages are quick, easy and free to set-up plus Google seems to like them. I would always recommend having your own website though so that you remain in control.....only use Squidoo as a compliment to your own websites. That is, unless you are just starting out and lack the funds, confidence or knowledge to do your own site.
You can also find some other lenses in your similar genre and try to make friends with those lensmasters. Post some helpful comments on their lenses, vote for their lenses, and apply to join their groups. The more ratings and views your page has at squidoo, the higher it will rank there, which in turn helps the links that are on your squidoo page.
i'm also having this kind of problem to my squidoo lens. tho, i'm hoping it would improve in a few days or weeks.
