I have been reading a lot about Squidoo Lately and have often considered setting up a lense or two.

But before wasting my time I wanted to ask is it worth it, what are the benefits of a squidoo lens?

Does any body have an lenses they can post for me to look at.

The benefits are that you can get them to rank fairly quickly in the search engines, especially Yahoo. You can also get a lot of traffic from Squidoo itself if it's a very good lense. I would spend some time browsing Squidoo and check out the lenses that rank the highest.

Yep, give it a try. I've just created some lenses this week for my affiliates. Hope they convert next days.

Here is a Squidoo lense I created to promote my forum

    http://www.squidoo.com/firestorm

In just one week it soared to #27 in the Business category
and #516 overall, so if you promote it, you can get traffic from them

If you can get a few of these babies out a week and optimize them for low competition keywords you can make a couple of hundred dollars a week because they usually go straight to the top of Google.

It’s not going to make you rich, but extra cash is extra cash.

That's the hole idea :) Since I'm starting to test some of them it'll reply later with some comments about this strategy. Wish me luck.

Squiddo is a good idea but instead of wasting time promoting squiddo, why do you promote your own site instead.

Because lenses rank higher very fast, so they say :) And ezine articles also. So it's a cool move to test the waters.

I said this another thread but I will say it here. I do not think Squidoo is good for promoting your site for that go to Hubpages. Squidoo is nofollow. Squidoo is good for selling things.

Squidoo turns dofollow after your`e featured in Google. AKA the green mark next to the lens. I use Squidoo but have dabbled into Hubpages. Pretty much the same thing.

Everytime I try to promote a site on squidoo and hubpages when I google the site only hubpages comes up. Isn't that because of nofollow? Thought it was.

I must say I recently tested out squidoo and got ranked in Google pretty quick. I kept building links, social bookmark articles, the usual and after 1 week Google just deindexed 2 of my lenses. I had lots of unique content and much related information. I think Google still have something against squidoo.

I've read all these success stories about Squidoo but I haven't seen any benefit. Made two lenses as satellite sites for two of my client sites but they hadn't been picked up for the next two weeks to come (despite of having articles, ads and socials pointing to them).

So, my choice for satellite sites would be Blogger - works much better for me, gets picked up instantly and posts are even sometimes included in Google Alerts.

Squidoo is always a waste of time UNLESS you have a good network of friends, who are already popular in Squidoo. You really need to elaborate to see any benefits or sales from Squidoo and then, if you got spare time, you might as well write something extra for your own site.

Also, psychologically, people are more likely to buy things from stand-alone domains than from free sites like Geocities, Squidoo, Tuidoo, Muidoo or any other...

Who ever told you that???? Squidoo is dofollow.

Squidoo Lens and marketing is the combination you have to try to be successful with Squidoo or any other website. And I believe the Squidoo is DoFollow.
