If you are using squidoo for link building or something like that, do it. But if you are using it as a sole page for monetization, Pls stop it. Squidoo, hubpages......etc change their policies whenever they want. And you are a slave of those policies. Even facebook is same. They can close your page anytime they want. And they do a lot of times. So, build your own site with your own domain and host. There are lots of hosting services out there with high quality service in very very cheap price.
Squidoo & Hub's are still good ways to build links but I would diversify with other 2.0 properties. Also, make sure you build some social bookmarks to each property you build. It really does nothing unless you bukld links to the page that is linking back to your site. People forget about that.
