I've been using both Hubpages and Squidoo for a little over a year now. As many have already stated, Hubpages is much more strict on content and outbound links (self promoting links limited to 2 I believe). That being said, Hubpages seems to deliver more traffic, although click-through rates to my site are much better with Squidoo. As for ease of use... I'd go with Squidoo. The "feeds" module is a very nice way to have fresh content delivered daily!
Go with Squidoo - hubpages has some heavy handed admins. I can go to squidoo, setup a page, include some links to my site and everything is fine. The very first hub I setup, it got flagged before I could even add content to it. The hubpage was less then 20 minutes old, I was adding content, and it got flagged for having 2 links on the page. Two freaking links and the page got flagged.... Besides the opening paragraph, I uploaded an image, and posted 4 youtube videos. So there was more content then just 2 links. It only took the hubpages admins less then 20 minutes to flag the account. I made massive changes to the page and resubmitted it - 10 hours later it has not been approved. This tells me that the hub admins are quick on the draw, over zealous and do not want to take a look at your page after changes have been made.
Squidoo is good for marketing because Google love it, but it is hard to get traffic for squidoo nowadays, since too much marketers use Squidoo. I think Hugpaes is better then Squidoo. I have over 10 Squidoo lense and 3 hubpages and the visitors to hubgas is much more than to Squidoo's lense, although I have spent so much time for Squidoo and very litle time for Hubpages. However, Squidoo is easier to create lenses than Hubpages.
