Someone successful in driving traffic from Squidoo pages cares to explain the general steps?

I'd be surprised if you get any traffic from it. It's very light on content. Not many tags. Not much thought has gone into it.

Quality content will produce quality traffic.

Creating a lens should be thought out. It doesn't have to be hard work, just keyword rich with quality, unique content. Once you have created the lens the best way to get traffic to the lens in the first place is to write quality articles and submit them to ezine articles.

Keywords are key for getting your lens listed in Google quickly.

Content is king with a lens as most things on the lens with most of the work involved being the keyword research.

    Hope this helps

I made lens of the day not so long ago and it drove a good bit of traffic to my blog. I spend a lot of time on my lenses, though. And I try to do them on subjects that I already know a lot about or WANT to know a lot about.

I actually got a payment from them today! It was unexpected and nice. :)

My lens rank is currently #77. For that particular one. When it was chosen, it was very low on the totem pole. It was picked by Megan for the Lens of the Day because, I think, she knew it was special for me and I had spent a good amount of time on it. When it went to Lens of the Day, I think it went up to #7 or #9.

You can see that lens here: http://www.squidoo.com/jimhenson/

My blog focuses on movie, television and pop culture subjects, so it's a good fit for me.

As for what lens of mine gets the most traffic, it's actually not ranked very high. It's this one: http://www.squidoo.com/piratesofthecaribbean3/

That's the one that's made the most $$ for me.

And here's the other one that gets the most traffic for me: http://www.squidoo.com/80scartoons/

And here are all my lenses: http://www.squidoo.com/lensmasters/blondeheroine

As for how much my payment was, it wasn't a lot, but a pleasant surprise. It paid for my meal yesterday. :)

I think if you're going to Squidoo, you need to do it with branding yourself and getting traffic in mind instead of $$. However, more than likely, if your lens is fun and/or informative, you'll make a little bit of $$. Some lensmasters do make a good amount of money, but they all work very, very hard on their lenses. :)

    Hope that helps!
