I have just created my first Squidoo lens and then noticed that all of the links to Amazon and their suggested blogs were all Nofollow. Also the link that I had put in to our own website (under the Your blog I have to admit) was not there. Will this change if/when the lens gets approved? Also, is it worth spending the time making this lens really good? Is it more likely to get a dofollow link if it's very long - or does this just depend on how many Squidoo users vote for it - or are all Squidoo lenses nofollow? Do the Squidoo staff come back to approved Squidoo lenses and delte all external links? Would appreciate any advice. PS - I may well continue with Squidoo for the pleasure of it but would like to know whether it's worth spending time on for SEO purposes.
Yes it's dofollow - see my reply here: > http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=10488289&postcount=5
Have just read your dp link and found the following info very useful: Many thanks. PS - Am sorry but this thread seems to have been posted twice - my computer crashed as I posted the first link and then I couldn't get it to show in the threads so assumed it had got lost in the crash and added this new post.
squidoo dont manually approve the lenses. once you create a lens, it goes under WIP (work in progress) stage for less than a day after which it turns active. at that time, your link becomes dofollow as well. as long as you have a lens with atleast 3 modules and complying with squidoo policy, you are fine
Nice one, I am a big fan of using Squidoo, and they are constantly improving their interface, which makes it a great platform to use for web 2.0
This site here: http://www.seomoz.org/article/social-media-optimization-strategies has some really great guides on social media sites including Squidoo and what it can do for your site. It makes it sound like Squidoo lenses count for a lot less today than they did 6 months ago. Whether that's true or not, they have great info on the mechanics of Squidoo.
Awesome info on Squidoo here, thanks guys. I was thinking of posting a few of my articles (1 per module)...and hope to make them all do follow...trying to get a variety of inbound links to my site, and always HEARD great things about Squidoo...time to try them out!
Oh. I never know this. So we need minimum 3 modules. Fine then I will go and make many lenses and backlinks. Is there any limit for lenses?
Squidoo links are do-follow and it is still one of the best ways to promote your products or gain more visitors.
