Squidoo - Dofollow or Nofollow? Worth It?

Discussion in 'Link Development' started by jj1, Jan 29, 2009.

I have just created my first Squidoo lens and then noticed that all of the links to Amazon and their suggested blogs were all Nofollow. Also the link that I had put in to our own website (under the Your blog I have to admit) was not there.

Will this change if/when the lens gets approved?

Also, is it worth spending the time making this lens really good? Is it more likely to get a dofollow link if it's very long - or does this just depend on how many Squidoo users vote for it - or are all Squidoo lenses nofollow?

Do the Squidoo staff come back to approved Squidoo lenses and delte all external links?

    Would appreciate any advice.

PS - I may well continue with Squidoo for the pleasure of it but would like to know whether it's worth spending time on for SEO purposes.

The links are not 'nofollow' in text modules.

I am starting to find my way around Squidoo now - but can anyone tell me - when posting a comment on a lens - do you need to leave an actual link to your own squidoo lens to get any benefit or does your user name tag do this for you?

When you post a comment it just links to your squidoo profile.

Leave a good comment without spamming and link to your squidoo lense in the comment. Even though it's 'nofollow' it's good for traffic.

Does anyone know how to add anchor text into the links in text modules? I tried the same code that I use in forum signatures and it doesn't work:
    [ url= http://www.mysite.co.uk/ ]anchor text[/url]
Obviously I didn't include all the spaces - I had to here to show you guys what I meant.
