Squidoo Lenses are dofollow. its just that they may take awhile to be indexed compared to normal websites. Although you are riding on squidoo's credibility. Your lens is still a subdomain and you have to be patient. Continue building links with other websites and you will reap from it. PM me if you need any other advice
No it's not. A subdomain is like yourblog.wordpress.com - and they have limited power for backlinks as they are (I think, not really researched it) treated as new sites. On squidoo you are on their main domain as a page so ARE using the page trust that Google gives Squidoo (which is why I prefer Hubpages, Google seems to give it more domain trust - imo of course)
one often hears that if one stops participating in the squidoo community the page ranking fall much faster then an ezine article with google. Is this true?
No, community participation has nothing to do with PR, however you may be thinking of Squidoo's completely separate internal lensrank system which can be affected by community interaction. @center2 I usually blog and social bookmark my new lenses and they are indexed in a day or two.
I just double checked to make sure that I am giving you accurate information. The Squidoo links I am looking at right now are dofollow.
I think squidoo is best for generating traffic..also google loves to index and crawls Squidoo lens...
Thanks for this very helpful info on Squidoo. Can you tel me how to add 'do follow' to my lenses? I looked everwhere and haven't been able to figure out how to do this.
I personally prefer Article Marketing. I submitted to squidoo a few months ago and it still isn't indexed. Kinda put me off, but I'm sure it works for others.
If i'm honest squidoo confuses me a little. However i have made 3/4 lenses now and in my personal experience my first two lenses have generated good traffic towards my site and i still get traffic even after a year or so without doing any maintenance on them. As for direct links on my site im not sure how effective these have been. I'd say its worth creating a few lenses with good keywords to at least generate a bit of traffic for your site. Also my lenses were indexed.
. Thanks for this bit of info. I have 4 published lenses all of which point to two of my sites. I didn't really think about IP diversification. By having all 4 pointing to two of my sites will this have a negative impact on me and my sites in any way?
I use Squidoo and Hubpages.... If you invest and little time and do web 2.0 linking to your hubs/lenses you can get good quality deep links.... I am looking for other alternatives though but haven't really found any....
What makes hubpages better? If you lose your hubscore, than you will lose your dofollow links. I have not managed to get much traffic from either hubpages or squidoo. I have 37 featured lenses. The most common topic is food and recipes. I have had 66 total visits since I started around 6 months ago. If anyone feels they could give me any advice, please PM me.
Hello everyone how do you get your website pages indexed by google? And what does squidoo actually do
