Squidoo and Twitter

Would you like your Squidoo lenses 'twittered'?

Don't know what the heck a twitter is? Then stop by and read this first: Do You Twitter?

    Then go to: www.squidoo.com/squidtastic

It's the official Squid HQ Twitter group.

And if you want (but you don't have to) sign up at twitter: http://twitter.com and be sure to add www.twitter.com/squidtastic to your friends list.

Being a CitizenSquid I can avail myself to the use of the squidtastic Twitter group, but not more than a few a day. So only post your BEST in this thread for consideration.

Like the Explore page nominations you will need to fulfil certain criteria to be in the running. I've written an article on the minimum expectations called Squidoo Basics.

If you can do all that AND have quality content (a lens that is nothing more than an affiliate landing page isn't the sort of thing that will be considered) then you're in the running for a chance.

PS: I can be found at http://twitter.com/reprobate add me with this link if you've already got a Twitter account.

Hey, I'm interested of course. ;) Should I submit the same lenses I did for the explorer contest or should I submit different ones? Or does it matter?

I'd suggest you pick out one that wasn't submitted to give it a bit of a chance. You wouldn't want it to get jealous would you? :D

I used twitter for a while then could not understand why i would post a short quip about mundane activities. I guess it is lost on me.

I had the same impression. Then I started to think about how it could be used as an effective tool. The possiblities are not quite limitless but they're not without merit.

But I will say that 80% or 90% (maybe even more) is pointless banter and background noise. But the opportunity to tap into an audience and the added bonus of backlinks is what I believe made Squid Inc decide it would be a fun and risk-free way to promote their thriving community.

Okay, I will submit this one. I am quite proud of it. I can't believe it, but it currently has a lensrank of #4. Gasp!

Thanks again for all of your dedication and hard work. I appreciate it.

p.s. Good news! I fixed my workshop loading problem the other day that I had contacted you about. Apparently, it was a bug in the module sorter. I messed around with it some, deleted some modules, and it fixed itself. That was a huge relief.

I actually noticed that you'd been away.

So I posted that lens of yours. So you could smell it and come out from whereever you've been hiding :p

Wow the cake lens is one of the best I have seen thus far, gave you 5 stars! Can I ask how long it took you to produce that particular squidoo lens on birthday cake party themes?

Thanks for the compliment and the rating on my cake lens. That particular lens took a VERY long time to create, but I am pleased with the results. Adding all of the cake photos was time consuming, but I think it really makes the lens since people are visual by nature. I was about halfway through the themes I wanted to include on it and I said to myself, "I am so sick of cakes!" :) But, I trudged on and finished it. I LOVE anything to do with kids birthday parties so for the most part it was fun to do. That is why on squidoo you really need to tackle topics that truly interest you because that is when you will do your best work.

    Thanks again,
    Janet~

p.s. if you could take a moment and sign the guestbook, that would be great.

I already tried using squidoo but I haven't tried twitter...I'll try to check it out later.

I like Squidoo a lot because it's very easy to use and I can generate a lot of traffic by using lens.
