squidoo is a web 2.0 site where you can publish your own artcile to build a lens. you can write relevant article and build lenses with those articles. you can also get anchor text backlinks form the squidoo lens that give you the seo benefit (in terms of link juice)
Squidoo is a dofollow site, you have the freedom to create your own web page/s (lens as they call it) place some quality content then place links going to your website/s just don't spam.

there is no moderation but there is something called "work in progress" during when squidoo doesn;t show the lens on squidoo network. if you have some keywords that is offensive or against squidoo policy, then squidoo might flag your lens for manual review. squidoo is lot hardsr than it used to be and they dont allow pharmacy, gambling, and sometimes weight loss related content anymore
