A page that gives a sales pitch, but to get anywhere you have to give your email address to subscribe to a newsletter, I believe. Really, really annoying IMO, but they do apparently work well.
I've heard that some squeeze pages convert 40% of users (capturing their email address)...which is incredible. If you have good, quality follow-up I'm sure this could be quite rewarding financially. Allen
I'd imagine that depends on what your market is. If you're trying to lure an email out of a savvy webmaster or affiliate marketer, you'll probably end up with a lot of crap emails (unless you're a well known member of the community), but if you are marketing to the "make money at home" crowd you'll probably get a lot of legit email addresses.
annoying, yeah maybe. But I have personally pulled over 65% opt-in rate on some of my squeeze pages so extremely effective. As for receiving crap emails, set it to double optin it helps to filter out lots of the crap. Brad
Maybe but I know many people (myself included) that have an email account ONLY for signing up for promotions or product reviews and I don't ever read the emails... I just sign up for what I need and then regularly do mass deletion of the inbox. Of course when it's something that I feel can be useful I'll just signup with my regular email, but you have to be careful since a lot of the list owners will continue sending you crap even after you unsubscribe.
I ABSOLUTELY HATE THOSE PAGES. Anytime I run into them either in my field or elsewhere, I just move on. It's so... I dunno, spammy and try hard with lots of hyperbole. Sad thing is, the majority of those in my field marketing dating/seduction products/services use squeeze pages. Of course, if all my competitors are doing it and I'm not, what the hell am I doing wrong? or maybe I'm doing something right? *sigh* I have the soft-sell newsletter subscription if they so choose to opt-in.
