Squeeze Page Conversion Rates

My current conversion rate is slightly less than 14%. Is this normal, more, or less than most squeeze pages? I'd like it to be a good bit more than just 14%, and I think I could get it there with better copy or prequalifying a little with my ads.

    Thoughts?

It's not the percent of the conversion that matters it's the profit margin after advertising funds have been spent that matters how good your conversion rate is.

You could have spent $20 and got a 14% conversion from that source, yet yielded only $5 return profit on your initial investment. In that case a 14% conversion would be crap. Track your results and you can change your
    conversion to profit ratio.

Well until I start actively selling a product to my list, all I can really do is build it. My product won't be finished for a few weeks, so in the meantime I am focusing on getting subscribers as well as sending periodic messages about an affiliate product.

Why not as you build your list, you send surveys and find what your list wants to buy from you and sometimes you can even find out how much they will pay....
