I have a .sql file and I want to convert to a tar.gz text file format.

    How do I do this?

    Thanks.

    7-Zip is good stuff
I use it to deal with any type of compressed files on Windows.

Right-click on .sql file -> 7-Zip -> Add to archive (Archive Format: tar)

btw .tar is not a text file format...
