Sql responding late

    hi guys i use datalife ms for my website & currently have 8000 registered members.From few days my host is complaigning that your sql queries are taking too much time to run on server & as a result our server hungs up.

    they say its better you migrate to our vps.Are they fooling or plz suggest me what should i do.Does 8000 members are too much for shared hosting due to which sql server hungs up?

    plz plz plz help me

    If your hosting provider says that you have to trust him, what else could you do? The number of registered users is not relevant. The question is how much traffic and especially db requests you have.

    If you expect further growing of your traffic I recommend that you directly transfer your web to a dedicated server instead of a vps. Because with a vps you have the same situation again. You share a physical system with other customers. And the administration effort for a vps and a dedi server is almost equal. In both cases you are responsable for a whole server that is exposed to the internet. If you have no experience with server management, you should hire an admin for that.
