I just got an email from a friend, saying her computer runs slow because she has a TON of virus & firewalls running. Here's the list of what she has installed, I would really appreciate if someone could tell me what she does NOT need.

    Norton Security
    AVG 7.5
    McAfee
    ZoneAlarm
    Spyware Doctor
    Ad-Watch 2007
    Ad-Aware 2007

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

last time i checked Mcafee and Norton and few others do not go along with each other and will slow down or will become null (each cancelling each other).

    tell your friend to use
mcafee or norton or AVG or zonealarm
    adaware and adwatch

I think only AVG and Zonealarm works good. There is no need of any other software IMO. I am using both since last 2 years without having any problem.

To everyone that posted, I really appreciate your help. She ended up removing everything except AVG and ZA, but also liked the features that Panda offers, so she'll probably give it a try tomorrow.

    :) THANKS EVERYONE! :)

I always suggest people to get Kaspersky and BitDefender. You don't need anything else.
