    Just wondered if anyone had seen this product before?

    A friend mentioned it to me on Messenger the other day, and I was quite impressed.

    http://spyfu.com

    Can't think where they're getting the data from, mind...

    No comment from anyone...?

    (This isn't my site, by the way, or one that I'm associated with in any way.)

    I used to be a GoogSpy fan before it turned into SpyFu. The challenge with SpyFu was that the data I was getting was 3-4 months old and way off! The worst part, was that my company wanted me to guarantee the accuracy of my data.

    When I shopped around for a new tool, in addition to looking at cost, I also looked at how often they collected data. This is what I found:

    * AdGooroo.com ($89.95) is 30 days
    * Keyword Spy.com ($89.95) no clue as to the timeliness of their data
    * WordTracker.com ($89.95) is 90 days
    * Key Compete.com ($39.00) 90 days
    * SpyFu.com ($38.50) is 90-120 days
    * iSpionage.com ($39.00) is 3 days

    Since they all do about the same thing - in the $39 range - SpyFu is OK for Bencmarking but not great for reporting. I'm kinda digging iSpionage. I'd love to hear what you guys have found.

    I once sent an e-mail to KeywordSpy Support asking on how often KeywordSpy updates its database. They replied that it is being updated maximum of 2 weeks. I believe there's some truth in it for they were able to show the new keywords I added a week ago in my Adwords campaign when I check the stats of my own site.

    Regarding Spyfu's reporting, I agree, I was presented with a data before and the information is just all over the place. Its hard to understand and can most of the time be inaccurate.

    I've also tried KeywordSpy via their Free Trial. Regarding the "timeliness" i think they are pretty accurate. According to them they update like every 2 weeks or so, so sometimes they can be off by a few numbers. But with benchmarking tools such as these, you cant really expect perfection. In terms of competition analysis, they can give you a pretty good idea how others are doing.

    I think its a safe bet to try them all out first before paying for membership. For Spyfu, Wordtracker and Adgooroo, they don't seem to offer these option. So, Im just trying out KeywordSpy for now. From the looks of it, it works for affiliate marketing too so there is a lot in there for 89 bucks.

    Thanks for the information and it's so cool that you got a reply from KeywordSpy!

    - Though not as cool as 3 days, definitely MUCH better than 90 days!

    For the cost - it's nice to see that they're justifying it. :)

    I don't use PPC but if I did I would be giving Spy Fu a serious look.

    I already tried Adgooroo & Spyfu but the freshness of data is a big factor to consider with tools like these.

    You're right Liezl! I contacted KeywordSpy support and they told me data is updated within 2 weeks maximum. I'm glad I took the risk and subscribed to KeywordSpy. I can say I'm really getting my money's worth with what they're doing for my company - better exposure, greater profit!
