    Hello

    I have had this website for over 5 years now and i just started monetizintg it. I currently use google adsense, please review it for me. It's basic use is Social Media as you can understand. Link shortening service.

    I have a question for the General public. Should i remove the ads and go with a paypal donate button or just continue as is or use both?

    Quite nice idea, you should make a partnership with Spotify! The design could be more modern here though and it lacks an explanation on how it works and why you have to use it. I don't really think that donate button is a good idea and that it works, the partnership would be the best thing. Or you can go back to using ads, should be more profitable.

    Heh, yeah, these other replies do seem to be shockingly devoid of an actual REVIEW.

    Just be warned, I don't sugar coat this stuff. I'm going to give it to you hard and fast, and as truthfully as possible... so try not to get too butthurt.

    The use of px metrics across the page for fonts, widths, padding, and margins is a complete /FAIL/ at accessibility, sending users like myself diving for the zoom when we shouldn't have to. The ATTEMPT at being responsive is exactly that, an attempt that failed as it breaks at many different sizes. The use of images for text is also bad given how poorly and "rasterized" the logo gets, much less how blurry it is even at the original size. The overuse of ALL-CAPS also impairs legibility, as does the use of the "open sans" font for all users. It tends to render like crap on windows

    Non-mouse site navigation is utterly banjaxed, bespeaking a broken to nonexistant semantics or logical document structure. Likewise the forms are hard to navigate likely meaning they are malformed. We'll get to that more when I take a look at the code.

    Speed-wise it's pretty decent, but when/if you start having "real" traffic it could still use some help. It's blowing 760k in 34 files on a page that by my guesstimates likely has ZERO legitimate reason to break past 64k in five files. That 255k in 12 separate files is CSS -- on a site that I doubt needs more than 32k in one file -- bespeaks broken site building practices. The 400k of scripting in 12 files is just plain derp, even if 100k and 2 files of that is the analtyics. (pointless bean-counter nonsense, just use analog or webalizer to parse your server logs!). I'm not even seeing much of anything that SHOULD be scripted on the site.

    But the real pain is the markup -- you have 475 bytes of plaintext, four form elements, and ZERO content images (well, maybe 1 for the PP logo). What the bloody blue blazes is it wasting 57k on?!?

    So popping the bonnet to have a look? Well there's your problem. Bootcrap. Go find a stick to scrape that off with before tracking it all over your website's carpets. The ONLY thing you can learn from that train wreck is how NOT to code a website.

    A situation exacerbated by nonexistent semantics, gibberish use of numbered headings, endless pointless DIV for nothing, massive static scripting in the markup pretty much going full Gungan, static style in the markup, broken/incomplete forms, overstuffed keywords META with zero content relevance, and a host of other "I cans haz intarwebs" development derpology. Don't even get me STARTED about tags like <center> that haven't been valid HTML for over two decades.

    Meesa sayz yews nevah goes FULL Gungan.

    Even the simplest of things are borked... what the blazes makes "120,695 Total Short Urls" the START of a subsection of content preceded by a depth 3 heading? You know, the semantic/structural meaning of a H4? You don't chose numbered headings just because "I want fonts in different weights and sizes" -- that's NOT what they MEAN!

    That the static scripting in the markup appears to contain markup encoded in JS strings? utter and complete /FAIL/ at the most basic use of web technologies, and POSSIBLY even opening up windows for XSS exploits.

    But seriously, even just this:

                        <div class="wide_cont">

                            <div class="page_head">
                                <div class="container">

    Code (markup):
    Is 100% "3i"... what's 3i you ask? Ignorance, incompetence, and ineptitude. Endless pointless DIV for nothing, DIV +classes that do nothing at ll like "row" and "span12" given their placement. Emphasis inside headings... how can you have a H3 without a H2 or H1 for it to mark the start of a subsection of? Why are multiple DIV and an IMG tag doing H1's job with a presentational image slopped into the markup as IMG?

    Written "properly" there is ZERO legitimate reason for the home page of that site to vary significantly from:

    Code (markup):
    Not even 3.2k of code. EVERYTHING else you're doing belongs in external files or not even in the page at all! And should be about three minutes work for any competent developer. The CSS to match the style whilst fixing the accessibility issues should be ~15 minutes for the main page, another 10 minutes for each additional page, +/- 30 minutes for any odd/unusual subpages.

    Such "3i" in the markup is hardly a surprise though when the scam-artist nube predator halfwitted BS like bootcrap and jQuery are involved. "oh but it was easier", "oh but it's simpler", "oh it sped up my development", "oh it's better for collaboration" -- BULLCOOKIES. It just made you work harder, not smarter, and you're likely in the toilet because of it. But sure folks, tell me again how using 57k of gibberish broken code that tells users with accessibility needs to go f*** themselves was somehow magically better than 3.2k of markup and a little understanding.

    Apologies if that sounds harsh, but that's the truth of it.

    Hello Everyone, i hope you have a wonderful Sunday. I have a little update for you regarding Project sptfy.com.

    It's called "Change your URL Destination". Basically you can now change which playlist, artist, podcats or album all your short urls point to if you have a registered account on the website.

    So, If you head over to sptfy.com, register an account. Then you make a short url while you are logged in you on the website. Now you can edit the short URL you just created and change the destination of the short url if you decide you linked the wrong playlist, artist, podcats or album while you created your url of if you have the url itself link.

    This is powerful for branded links if you have the same url posted over several Facebook posts, websites etc and release for example a new Album, then you can change your short url destination to link to that new album.

    Please se this image as Reference:

    I am thinking of creating my own URL shortening site. I am wondering how much server power I will need if the site gets busy. I don't know how busy your site is, but what is your server load? Any CPU issues at all? Would I need a dedicated server if my site gets busy?

    Your real concern is how much time you're prepared to spend fielding complaints from the hosting company and content providers. #BTDT

    Why would you get complaints?

    My hosting company claimed many of the links were to illegal content or pirated content and were going to cut off my account and all my sites.

    I'd made the shortener as an experiment and kind of forgot about it. Months later I got the complaint and found it had been used a lot - and the sites were extremely unsavoury. I could have kept it going but I'd need to add filters and manual checks and I just wasn't that interested so took the lot down.
