Sports message board with 100,000 pageviews per month -- what to do?

Trying to find a way to monetize my sports message board, so I can pay the server bills and what not. Gets 100,000 page views per month. Would CPC or CPM be the right way to go? Estimated earnings? Sorry, very new to this.

 

Actually, checking Google Analytics, its more like 120k per month.

 

Good place to start is probably Adsense. If you don't mind in-text ads you probably can look at Vibrant Media, Kontera, or a Skimlinks.

If your audience is pretty 'engaged,' Amazon Affiliate links for Sports items could be really interesting which works on a CPA.

They offer really good rates, but on the loopside, you get unfiltered ads which often contains redirects and/or unwanted pop-ups. If you are keen to work with clean, brand-safe ads - better try Adversal or Fidelity Media.

What are these companies paying on average per 1000?

 

Seems like I'd be better off selling advertising space to a company perhaps. 10 centers per 1,000 views? That's not going to make much money.

I'd like to post on the buy/sell forums. Whats the best way to get likes? I'm not very knowledgeable so I guess people aren't going to like my stuff very fast because I don't know a lot. But at the same time they make you get likes to post on that forum. Kinda a catch 22 for us newbies.

 

CPMFun - $0.40 to $0.65 (approx) per 1000 ad impressions
Adversal - $0.20 to $0.50 (approx) per 1000 ad impressions
Fidelity Media - $0.15 to $0.30 (approx) per 1000 ad impressions

NOTE:

Kindly note the '1000 ad impression' part. All of them pay on per impression basis and counts every impression. In other words - if you place 3 banners in one page and (suppose) your total number of page impression is 1000, then the number of ad impressions would be (1000x3)=3000 ad impressions. So you will be paid for all those 3000 ad impressions, not just for 1000 visits/page-views.
