Selling Sports Betting 6 Years Old for Sale

I'm selling it because I am involved in other projects and I don't have time to really work on it.

It earned more than 30k since launch (August 2009) from ad sales, affiliate marketing, subscriptions, etc. I've already sold all my affiliate accounts, and it's your call how you decide to monetize it.

What I'm offering you is the website (with all its SEO value) + domain name (decent enough for this niche).

The website used to produce betting picks until a while ago before I gave it up, it has an automatic script to easily submit picks and update the results. It has a simple yet powerful CMS system for news, reviews, anything you want in fact.

Most traffic comes from Google and it's all targeted quality traffic, it is true that numbers have dropped since "forgetting" about it, but it has a solid SEO base and it will be easy to get back into SERP's.

I removed all the old unnecessary things, so everything is fresh and clean, for a new start, whatever you may want to do with it from now on.

This site has a mountain of SEO errors.

It's not even being indexed properly due to what seems to be a robot.txt issue.

Could you please post your organic source list?

I am not saying this site is worthless, but it's probably highly overpriced in it's current condition.

Like a car without an engine...

    Hi Matt,

I don't think it's over-priced. I received $3,000 offers for it when I was still on it and I didn't want to let it go. Now I ask for much less as it's lost some of the old traffic and after all, any price is better than not doing anything with it.

Keep in mind that only the tipster script and the modules associated with it, are worth around $300 and it was purchased as a custom-made script. So basically, it's very little the buyer would pay for a 6 years old website that GETS targeted organic traffic, from Google mostly.

I am not a SEO expert by the way and maybe I made some mistakes, like the robot.txt issue you mentioned (even though I see it ranked for different keywords), but this is very far from being over-priced. Don't look at the buy-it now price, I'd sell for half.

I also wanted to mention that is already has a domain authority on the web in its niche (DA, PA, etc) and even though I'm not excluding I may have made some mistakes, someone that knows the stuff will fix this quickly and take advantage of its SEO power as a whole, gathered in years.

Ok, can you please send the keyword list from Google Search Console? Anything with a click I would like to see if you don't mind.

Don't send a PM, post it here so everyone else can see as well.

You want the most exposure as possible.

Search queries link removed, will show it to a real buyer, in private only as I am sure there are people who don't always have clean intentions.

So why do you ask for details and search queries and stuff, if gambling isn't your thing and if you're tied with other things? I mean why? Curiosity? No offense but this is very irritating and you're not the only one who does that. It just makes no sense to me but whatever.

    I wouldn't sell it for $600.

I went ahead and deleted my appraisal, I should have sent that in a PM, sorry about that.

I know it can be frustrating to answer questions and then have that person not purchase the website - however I am helping the rest of the community make a good buying decision.

How can someone properly appraise the value of your website without seeing which keywords are bringing in traffic?

This is a nice site - just overpriced.

    That's just my opinion however.

He posted it, and then deleted it.

    It's beyond me why...

I checked the keywords and he is ranking well for quite a few of them.

You would think he would want to shout it to everyone instead of keeping it a secret.

    Strange...

Matt, I didn't know you were on behalf of the community. I would have understood then. But you won't believe how many people ask for details, even some of the most "detailed" details, only to say they are not interested or don't bother to even answer.

I mean, I have no problem if potential buyer doesn't want the website because of valid, objective reasons. But to say you're interested and then to say you're actually tied with something else, is something I can't understand. If the website is bad, just say it, if it's over-priced - negotiate, but why ask if you're not interested from the very start? Unless you're operating on behalf of the community of course, so it's understandable in your case:)

A lot of people prefer to keep that kind of information private - keywords they rank well for. Especially when that particular niche is very competitive

I wouldn't exactly say I am "acting on behalf of the community".

    It's not that complicated.

You are claiming organic traffic without letting us know which keywords the traffic is coming from.

I simply asked for you to show the keyword list.

Everything that happened after that is a waste of both our times.

    Good luck with your sale!

Alpha_Mental, you're perfectly right to assume that, especially in this niche which is very competitive and has a lot of money involved. I wouldn't have done that if I didn't had plans to sell the website.
