Spoof PayPal Email???

I generally don't take much notice of spoff emails claiming to be from PayPal. However the email shown below caught my attention! There was no email address contained in the text of the email. Also the return email addresses shown in Outlook Express appear to be from PayPal.com.

A big RED FLAG as I have received the same email from the following 3 email addresses today!

    johypwknng@paypal .com
    ktvus@paypal .com
    cjaes@paypal .com

I assume that this this is an attempt to access personal info for fraud purposes when the phone number (1-310-439-5823) is called?

A reverse cellphone search reveals that the name and address for the phone's owner is available for a fee. The following info was available for free.

I am guessing that whoever is sending these emails is using a stolen cellphone?

Either that or the number directs to a premuim costing $5 a min to call. I get these all the time, just forward it to Paypal and make them aware of it.

As a rule, any Paypal email should be assumed to be fake. If you get an email requesting personal info you should logon to your account (not by clicking through an email link, of course) and ask Paypal themselves if they sent it.

Just forward it to Paypal's abuse department.

I wonder how much Paypal spends dealing with crap like this...

An easy way to check is to look at a link that it asks you to click. Just by reading the URL you will see its a spoof. Forward those emails to

it seems you NOT know how to reconize a email from paypal. This is ofcource spoof.

Genuine emails from paypal start with:

    Dear [first name] [last name]

and NOT with Dear [email adress]

You can forward the mail to and they usually get back within a few hours letting you know if it's real.
