Alright listen up I have a vbulletin 4 publishing suite license and no use for it. I am willing to use my VBulletin license on your forum (this means you can use VB Forum, Blog, & CMS with no restrictions what so ever). In addition I own a VPS set up to be a webhost with which I can host your forum for you completely free (you would have to buy a domain). Also as an additive bonus, the person would receive 30% off any pricing of any service I offer as well as long as the deal is held; a graphic design that would normally cost you $10.00 would only cost you $7.00 I am willing to provide these to you FOR FREE for your new or current forum (you move it over to my vbulletin publishing suite & webhost for example). What's the catch you may ask? Well of course there has to be something but not much; All I ask in return is one or multiple if you wish of the following: - Permanent Ad space on the forum to what I want - Permanent link(s) on the forum to what I want - Small "network of sites" bar on the forum (bottom of the screen most likely) - Share of revenue if any - Possible administration/part in decision making of the forum - I be the actual owner and you be the admin that runs everything You don't need to do all of these, of course the more you do the more I would be grateful for you returning the favor of my offer. I do have years of experience owning and administrating forums of my own as well as moderating others and other such positions so rest assured if you would like me to have some sort of position I would not be new at it and could fill it well. (Please note: I am not too interested in "co-administrating" a forum completely at this point in time if it demanded a lot of time. Why would someone want to own a website that is still basically being run by you? You control the ads, the links, etc.? That doesn't sound like a deal at all to me.
I agree with ExtraRanch. Not that this is necessarily a bad deal, the software being promised is powerful and comprehensive, but it isn't a great deal or anything, and if it is good it isn't good by a wide margin. In effect, the OP would have and own everything. Everything on his server, controls the content inside, and has administrative stake. Even if you own the website before hand, OP automatically joins your board of trustees and has considerable sway.
Not true at all. The hosting would be hosting just as if it was on any other webhost. How would I have control over any of the content? How would I have any administrative stake? How would I automatically join the board of trustees and have considerable sway? You mistake the offer in a great fashion and I advise you to re-read my statement. All I ask in return is simply ONE NOT ALL of the following things: - Permanent Ad space on the forum to what I want - Permanent links on the forum to what I want - Small "network of sites" bar on the forum (bottom of the screen most likely) - Share of revenue if any - Possible administration/part in decision making of the forum - I be the actual owner and you be the admin that runs everything That means someone could use my vbulletin forum license without any restriction and would only have to have as little as one permanent ad space such as a 125x125 square advertisement. I don't understand how that enables me any of the things you mentioned above in any manner.
I did misread your post and I rescind my prior comment. The singular part of your post that I misconstrued, or seemingly missed entirely, is the one that changes the entire tone of the post. Namely that of the list you gave you require only one to be fulfilled. That in perspective I do agree, this is a fantastic deal on all counts. Thanks for bringing this to my attention so that I could correct myself and avoid any further debacles.
