    Hello Everyone,

    I have been a long term lurker on the boards, and know how to use the search feature, so this is my FIRST post! It is my goal to make $50 a day by January 1 2009. I will be doing this by creating a product, websites, and
    sales material, all on my own!

    I have built a niche blog that is attracting about 70-100 unique visitors per day. My intention is to build this site as a 'feeder' site to a product that I am creating. I will promote and link to this product once I have completed it.

    The Long Term plan is to promote my product in a number of ways.

    1) Blog (Up and running) (50 Posts)
    2) Forums (This Weekend)
    3) Sales Site (List / Sales)

    At this point in the game, only the blog is going. The next thing I would like to add is the forum to increase recurring traffic. I own a number of keyword rich domains for my niche. Would I be best off to create a new forum site and link to it from my blog, or would it be better to add a forum to the blog itself. I never intend to advertise on my blog with PPC, but would go for it on the forum. I don't like the idea of doing SEO for two sites, but I am looking for long run maximization of traffic.

    Should I go:
    2 keyword rich domains and sites
    www*nichesite*com/ -->Blog
    www*nichekeyword*com --->Forum

    OR
    1 big keyword rich website
    www*nichesite*com/ -->Blog
    www*nichesite*com/forum/ -->Forum

    I will be around all day......Thanks in advance for replies.

    In my opinion, would would be much better off using the same domain for both your blog and your forum. There are plenty of sites on the internet that have very similar domain names but are not at all related. You don't want to risk losing visitors by having them try to find a different site, even if you do have niche-related keyword domains. This will not only make things easier for users, but when visitors come to your blog, they will be able to see the forum as part of your overall site - and get the impression that there is a lot more going on than just the blog.

    Usually it seems best to keep everything under one domain. If you have other really strong domain names, you can develop them separately, redirect them to your main site, or even sell them.

    This is just my opinion but I really do think your best option would be too keep everything in the same place :).
